Transform Africa Summit and some thoughts for the new year

Hello everyone and a happy new year! 2019 is now the 2nd year for Rtech and we are looking forward to the coming year with many visions and plans. In 2018 we were mainly focusing on getting started. Among our greatest experiences from the previous year was the conference Summit in Kigali, Rwanda. Our managing director Mr. Seth Ndayashimie had the honour of visiting the conference at 7th to 10th of May. The Transform Africa Summit is an annual conference that has been held in Rwanda since 2013, attracting thousands of visitors from approximately 100 countries every year. It is organised by the governments of the African countries for the purpose of discussing socio- economic development and challenges, with focus on digitalization. Subjects discussed were among other things the implementation of Artificial Intelligence, digital solutions in the health care and block chain technology. Mr. Seth found the stories of Estonias’s and Japan’s digitalisation of government administration to be of extra interest, as the government of Rwanda already has many plans of implementing digital solutions. Some of the most significant plans are regarding digitalising of services within health care, financial management and other governmental administration processes. At evening times, Mr. Seth spend a lot of time networking with both representatives from the governmental and private sector. We are having many visions for the coming year and how to implement our plans, and are already looking forward to the next conference which will be held in May 2019.
